Ayodhya Kanda
(A Play Based on Valmiki Ramayana)
Written and directed by Prasanna
The whole world is stuck in a huge problem of differences between the culture and religion. The indigenous cultures from all over the world are disintegrating due to excessive modernisation. People revere symbols, spend money and build structures. They build massive temples, mosques and churches. But they forget the essential dynamic. God, nature, civility, all are pushed into the sanctum sanctorum and forgotten. Keeping all these facts in mind, Navodaya is staging the play ‘Ayodhya Kanda’.
Aranya Kanda
(A Play Based on Valmiki Ramayana)
Written by Prasanna and directed by Sripada Bhat
Sita and Rama spent the first thirteen years of their exile like young lovers. The youth knew it was inappropriate to procreate during their stay in the forest. Hence, Aranya Kanda is also an extraordinary love story.
Shoorpanakhi is as beautiful as Sita. She is infatuated with Rama. Sita’s love is giving but Shoorpanakhi’s infatuation is demanding; while Rama is a noble warrior who never lets go of his honour. Their births as arya or asura does not make their status differ.
Olashunti
Written and directed by Prasanna
In this play, Mother India loses her magic due to the overuse of plastic and synthetic flags. Her children, represented by the colours saffron, white, and green, are in constant conflict, leading the country to decline. Realizing the tragic situation, Gandhi, Ambedkar, and Narada are urged to prevent the impending disaster. Gandhi hands them a Khadi flag, symbolising unity and tradition, to restore the nation. When Narada places the Khadi flag in Mother India’s hands, her magic returns, and the country’s unity is restored. Throughout the play, a poor old flower seller stands by Mother India, supporting her and ensuring her victory. This is the essence of the play.
Swarajyadata
Based on Mahatma Gandhi’s ‘Hind Swaraj’

Civilization is like a live bomb. Humanity is caught between a life of indulgence and the filth of urban living. Filth no longer appears filthy, and indulgence no longer seems indulgent. We have turned Mother Nature into waste. We’ve made life chemical, turned democracy into a chaotic, irresponsible system, and reduced spirituality to a commodity for sale. Movements have become mere throat-splitting competitions. Whether they like it or not, the youth have inherited this human bomb. I am presenting to you the creative emotions I have experienced alongside the youth.
